It’s been said, that the end of one’s life, people tend to regret what they haven’t done, more than what they did. I used to work in Classified Advertising. One of my coworkers was an incredible sales person; far exceeding any quotas she was given. I asked her about this once. ‘You are so successful, what is your secret?”, I asked. She looked at me intently and then she spoke slowly and deliberately. ‘ I do so well, she replied, ‘because no one ever told me I couldn’t ’.
This comment made a lasting impression on me about positive thinking and going after your dreams. : unless you try, you’ll never really know how much you can accomplish unless you try. John Burroughs, The American essayist, once wrote: “Leap and the net will appear.” The idea being, if you take a chance, whatever the consequences may be, you will not free-fall.
This idea reminds me of one of my favorite poems. written by Christopher Logue, a British playwright and poet. Allow me to share it with you

“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We’re comfortable back here,” they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We’re too busy,” they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“It’s too high,” they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We’re afraid,” they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We’ll fall,” they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
And they did.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.
So allow yourself to fly. And in doing so, you will be able to Soar!
