I am starting to see what seemed like the worst experience of my life, in retrospect, turned out to be one of the best. The fact that I lived through a period of uncertainty and survived (to become more positive and open) means that (as my mother used to say) ‘This too will pass’. It is symbolic of so much more, however. Sometimes when things aren’t going according to plan, the plan isn’t right. I equate this example with a situation in which one is using an outdated map to find a destination. The streets have changed; the names are different, construction has created detours and new routes. The directions on the map are no longer accurate. This is when it helps to go on line and Map Quest it; or look for another direction to where you want to go. Sometimes just admitting to yourself that the old no longer works is all one needs to do. I remember when I lost my job. I was telling a friend about this. ‘Congratulations, you graduated’, she said. ‘No’, I replied, ‘I lost my job’. ‘I heard you’, my friend said. ‘Graduation occurs when you are involved in something which is no longer right for you. If you don’t leave voluntarily something will occur to make it happen anyway. It is Spirit’s way of telling you it’s time to move on to something better’, Although I couldn’t see this at the time, looking back, I can see my friend was right. If you jump into the new experience, with faith, the net will be there.
